Chrome began experiencing slowdowns with 4K video playback.
Hello everyone, Here is the problem that i have.Recently the 4k videos in youtube started lagging like MAAADDD. This started around monday (26/01) Before that i didnt had any problems with the playback.This only occurs when i try to play the video in 4k in google chrome.I tried playing the same video in firefox/IE and the video is playing smoothly.Before monday the videos were playing fine without any problems.The only change that i notices is that the nvidia software showed that there is a new driver so i downloaded it and installed.I have tried reinstalling Chrome.I have updated flash player(just in case).I have installed the previous version of the nvidia driver-nothing can fix the problem(now im using the latest nvidia driver for my GPU). I saw some posts from 2014 on the web that suggested to turn of the hardware acceleration in Chrome-Done that-still didnt help out. I have no problems watching 4k videos in other web browsers... The video is buffering without any problems so the inet speed is not the problem. Videos lag like a game running at around 7 8 fps Does some one else experiance the same problem.Can some one provide me with a fix ? UPDATE: The videos are lagging in 1080p as well but not so much as in 4k Im using a laptop Lenogo g580 I7 3632qm 6gb of ram 120 kingston ssd nvidia 635m gpu
It fluctuates quite a bit. I haven’t experienced anything like this recently.
