I wondered whether an iGPU on the 7600 would perform better than the GT 1030. Since the GT 1030 is over five years old, it’s likely there are newer options available without spending much more.

The sole purpose for purchasing a GPU is to handle the tasks mentioned, while an iGPU cannot perform them. What’s the additional reason?

In reality... If I were designing a system now, for office and multimedia, I’d simply pick a 5600G. The gap between PCIe4 and 3 at this speed is almost unnoticeable.

It sounds like you're referring to streaming in high quality, such as 4K on Netflix. An integrated GPU could likely manage that.

yes those are standard codecs, one more advanced and recent, the other older and more supported, you mean like video stored on the PC? sure it should handle 4K, if it's not some crappy old CPU, not just CPUs improve, their integrated graphics slowly improve too, pack more features, handle higher demands, etc. these are 5600G and 7600 iGPUs:
