I have put together a premium gaming PC equipped with a 1000W PSU and tested its maximum load capacity to be approximately 750W during gaming and streaming. I’m now seeking a suitable UPS:
around 1500VA
preferably with a clean sine wave output on the battery
quiet (especially when peripherals are off)
Would you mind assisting me in selecting from the options provided, or suggest an alternative available in the UK?
APC Back UPS Pro BR1600SI — I purchased one from Amazon, but it produces a persistent high-pitched whine (coil noise) even when powered down (the sound appears to vary depending on whether the screen is on). Could this be a defect? I also have another BR1200SI which remains silent when the display is off. I’m willing to return the BR1600SI for a replacement, but its price has risen from £470 to £520, so I’m also considering other choices.
Eaton Ellipse Pro ELP1600IEC — £379 from Amazon, some reviews note an always-on fan and uncertainty about whether the battery output is pure sine wave. Certain online opinions suggest Eaton performs better than APC, though this seems based on personal experience.
Cyberpower CP1500EPFCLCD-UK — £365 from Amazon, positioned as a more affordable option, but with a shorter runtime compared to APC. I’m unsure if that difference is significant since it won’t last more than a few minutes.
Thank you
Gleb D.
