planning to purchase a 10900k in the coming two weeks is tricky. I'm trying to figure out which motherboard fits best from the options you mentioned: Asus ROG MAXIMUS XII FORMULA, ROG MAXIMUS XII APEX, ROG MAXIMUS XII HERO WI-FI. If you have a preference for something else, let me know. I think I'll also need a new 750/850w 80+ gold PSU since my old 550w 80+ bronze won't handle an overclocked 10900k and the Aorus 2070 super is out of the question.

We need many USB 3.0 connections because my keyboard uses two slots, my headset uses one, and I’m worried I’ll run out of free USB 3.0 ports. I noticed that many high-capacity drives come with many unused USB 2.0 ports.

Consider using Apex for memory-focused overclocking, Hero for general tasks, and Hero again for most situations. For the 10900K, a 650W PSU works well if you're not pushing it too hard, but a 750W would give you more buffer for aiming for 5.2-5.3GHz all-core speeds. A RM750x or Straight Power 11 750W are solid options.

I understand that issue, but when I connect my keyboard to a USB 2.0 port it causes problems. The keys react strangely, and typing causes delays or random key presses. If I use it on a USB 3.0 port, the warranty says it works fine.

the budget is about 1200 dollars for cpu memory and ram (it's a bit too much, but prices are really high here)
