For gaming, I’d choose 10 to ensure DX12 compatibility. It’s occasionally frustrating or even faulty, but once configured, it feels much better than version 7 in several areas.

A customized version of Windows 10 with a classic shell, Windows Photo Viewer, Media Player, and other adjustments is the most enjoyable OS I've used. Concerns about ads or privacy? Not applicable to this build. Spoiler: it works well.
