Hi, after reinstalling Windows, you're facing a decision between Windows 10 and Windows 7. Since you prefer a fresh start, consider Windows 10 for better stability and support. If you're concerned about games, you might want to try Windows 10 as well, as it generally handles gaming better. Windows 7 is still functional but may lack some modern features and security updates. It's wise to go with Windows 10 unless you have specific needs for Windows 7.

If it performed best, the reason for moving back remains unclear.

Typically games run smoothly on MSX. The main issues usually involve drivers for controllers and similar hardware, but using a mouse and keyboard should be fine. I prefer Windows 7 for its appearance and the fact that searching in the start menu feels much more intuitive compared to MSX.

I'm facing the same situation. I installed Windows 8.1 but am unsure when to switch to 10. Since DX12 is only available for 10, it's better to avoid waiting until you need to pay for the upgrade. However, since 8.1 is performing well, it's challenging to make the change now.
