You can boost performance by adjusting voltage or choosing a higher CL configuration. The 4266 kit with CL17 and lower CL14 at 1.5V is a solid alternative if you want better stability and power efficiency. Both options are viable depending on your priorities.
The 10980xe doesn't perform well with RAM above 3000MHz. Any differences in performance are likely due to small variations. It also tends not to handle faster RAM or 4000MHz kits properly, often running at around 2133MHz. I recommend using lower clocked RAM that is fully supported. The Trident models have a better chance of working.
It works well with Viper Steels. 4000Mhz CL14 offers a big boost. Finding quality 16GB cards is still tough.
