You're considering a Ryzen 7 5700G and deciding between Windows 10 Pro and Windows 11. Both options have pros and cons. Windows 10 Pro offers stability and compatibility with older software, while Windows 11 provides newer features and better performance on modern hardware. Since your CPU is relatively recent, Windows 11 might offer a smoother experience, but ensure your system meets the requirements for both.

I use 11 each day—aim for 10. It feels awkward to tweak basic items such as the taskbar and context menu. 11 seems to require a third-party tool to work properly.

I would continue using Windows 10 for another year or more, since bugs remain in Windows 11 and they should likely be fixed by then. Unless a specific feature is required, most users shouldn’t need to change now.

If your CPU stopped working before W11 came out, keep using W10 until it’s no longer supported. You’ll be fine.

I've been regularly driving W11 for some time now and I enjoy it.

I plan to remain on Windows 10 as long as it continues receiving free updates.

11 has encountered several issues with Ryzen, making 10 a more reliable choice. There are still five years left before an upgrade is necessary.

On recent systems I'm using, a fresh setup makes 10 unnecessary. The Ryzen problems have been fixed. I've been running daily updates on three machines for several months, and right now the only issues I notice are minor or don't affect my work.

As someone using Windows 11, I understand it's generally fine to use it. There are minor issues, but they aren’t causing major problems like crashes. You might want to hold off for a while before upgrading, as developers are likely working on fixes over time.
