I'm 3 years past the firmware date for my BIOS and my new RAM isn't functioning well. I suspect the issue might be related to the previous RAM, which was identical just now but with more gigabytes. Should I upgrade one at a time or switch directly to the latest BIOS version?
Varies by chipset and board type; often involves initial BIOS setup, especially on AM4 boards due to significant changes in AGESA for CPU compatibility.
For each firmware version discuss separately. Upgrade only when necessary. For instance, if a board lists bios 1.1 through 3.2 with specific upgrade notes—like "Upgrade to 2.0 before 2.1"—follow those instructions. If your board is at 1.2, you must go through 2.0 then 3.2. This design means no mandatory intermediate versions; just update the latest release. Yes, the officially designated "beta" version (AGESA 1208) works perfectly in my system.
Don't require a flash drive. Simply extract the Bios to the root folder on any of your storage devices.
I'll proceed now. Then start Windows, followed by running MemTest again during the night.
I can help you with that. Just let me know what you need to do!
