Windows 10 can be set up in two ways: either upgrade from the current OS while deciding whether to retain or remove user data, or carry out a complete clean install. Does upgrading affect 3D graphics performance, especially games, more than a fresh installation? Please let me know.

I favor a fresh setup. This ensures any issues can be easily traced to the operating system. It's also helpful to reboot with a clean slate, removing unused software that might have accumulated over time.

Clean installation keeps your original Windows files intact, avoiding the need to remove old folders. It offers advantages compared to an upgrade install by preserving your existing data.

The numbers clearly show a zero risk of failures. Upgrading adds a 50% chance of issues. The calculations confirm it.

He mentioned his personal advantages. A tidy OS reduces the chance of issues. I also favor a fresh OS setup since the registry won’t get cluttered with outdated files. The same applies to update folders. It’s also very simple to download the newest installation media from Microsoft, with almost no need to upgrade unless you have a large number of apps or limited storage.

Upgrade essentially swaps the old system for a new one. What remains are your personal files and registry entries required for the software you have installed. Most users perform a clean install just in case, but they don’t clarify what that process entails. There doesn’t seem to be a distinction between a clean install and an upgrade (such as from version 8.1 to 10), and your games should function identically either way.
