Curiously, do you have any suggestions for routers that can manage this setup? You'd like something capable of handling it while also allowing external hard drive connections on the network. Also, regarding PoE, what options would you advise? I'm worried about damaging my Ethernet devices by plugging them in directly. Thanks!

For the router it really comes down to your comfort level with dirtiness. I really liked assembling and configuring my own using pfSense, but it’s not suitable for everyone. My switch manages all PoE needs, so you won’t have to worry about that here—it checks for PoE signatures before delivering power. If you don’t require PoE elsewhere, the UAP AC Lite includes a PoE injector.
