Windows is the right choice. I’m still trying to decide between Windows 7 and 10. From what I’ve read, Windows 10 seems to have more issues like BSODs, driver problems, and game freezes. Those using Windows 10 might want to share their experiences. I plan to play games such as BF4, Cod BOIII, and COD AW, and I don’t want any performance drops or crashes after spending around $4000 on a machine. Here are my specs: Intel Core i7-4790K, 4.0GHz, Quad-Core, Enermax LIQTECH cooler, EVGA Z97, 32GB RAM, 2400Mhz DDR3, SanDisk Extreme PRO 240GB SSD, Kingston HyperX Savage 480GB, WD Black 2TB HDD, 7200 RPM, 64MB cache, Seasonic SNOW Silent 1050W ATX12V/EPSA12V, 80 PLUS Platinum. Razer DeathStalker Expert, Phanteks Enthoo, EVOLV ATX case, Black, 144Hz IPS, WQHD, G-Sync. I haven’t installed the keyboard, mouse, or monitor yet. I’m still setting everything up and will let you know once it’s ready. Thanks for your help! Paul

Windows 7 offers greater compatibility with older games compared to Windows 10. Windows 7 and 8 won’t support DX12, but they will work with Vulkan, which serves a similar purpose by enabling efficient communication between software drivers and hardware for better game performance. Windows 7 will keep receiving updates until 2020, placing it near the midpoint of its support timeline. If gaming is your priority, consider Windows 7 now and activate your license using the free Windows 10 upgrade. This way, you can transition to Windows 10 anytime later without worrying about missing out.
