Choose the desired graphics card during startup for the VFIO - Asus Prime X570 Pro
Hello everyone, my Asus Prime X570 Pro has finally arrived. I’m really excited to set up my system with the RTX 3080 as the host and the RTX 2060 as the guest. The performance was better than I anticipated. However, I’m a bit frustrated because I placed the 2060 in the first slot—it’s likely to overheat, while the second slot has more room. So I thought it was smart to put the most demanding card in the cooler one.
But I’m not sure how to configure the BIOS to boot the host system using the 2060 without any connection to it. If I power on without anything connected, it should boot with the RTX 3080, otherwise the 2060 takes the front. I can swap the cards, but I really don’t want the RTX 3080 at the top. Anyone has any ideas?
By the way, a quick thank you to Asus for that plastic cover on the VRM heatsinks—it’s making things hotter and blocking space for my second CPU fan. Maybe I could use this budget for a Wi-Fi upgrade or a BIOS flashback? At least this setup isn’t working perfectly yet. Haha!
I've encountered a comparable problem before, do you have any ideas on how to resolve it?
