Superduper is a utility that helps duplicate your drive. I’m working on the same setup—8GB RAM, 256GB SSD. Sierra should run smoothly if you use the newest version. You mentioned you dislike Mac OS Sierra and haven’t tried it yet. Why would you dislike it?
