Hello, you're evaluating CPU options for gaming, video editing, and SolidWorks. You're considering the 3950X + GB X570 AORUS Master with 32GB Corsair Dominator Platinum 3466 CL15 RAM or the Threadripper 3960X + GB XTR40 AORUS Master with 32GB Corsair Dominator Platinum 3466 CL15 RAM. You're curious if the Threadripper offers better value for the extra $600 compared to your current dual GTX 980 GPUs.

It doesn't make sense for you. TrX is only suitable for people with businesses or those who earn money. Since you're in college, focus on saving more of your funds instead.

Oh no, you're way too good with that 3700x.

College means working with a Ryzen 2600. It’ll help shape your character, and you’ll thank yourself later—though the 3950x would definitely cover it. Probably enough on its own, but less might work too.

I'm running an i5 4670k and was planning to buy a threadripper, but I figured I already have enough for the 3950x, haha!
