Hello everyone, I'm deciding which motherboard to buy for my PC. It has a Ryzen 3400G with 2933MHz and GSKill RAM 3000 in dual channel. I’m unsure whether to choose the B450M from Gigabyte Aorus or the MSI Mortar. From what I saw on their sites, Gigabyte doesn’t treat a 2933MHz memory clock as overclocked, while MSI does. Does this mean Gigabyte is better? Please give me your advice and any other thoughts. Thank you!

The chip can operate at a maximum speed of 2933mt/s. Choose the board that suits you best.

The RAM cap is set at 2933 MHz, which means any motherboard is acceptable. However, I recommend MSI Mortar Max for its superior VRM performance and built-in third-generation support.

The CPU only supports up to a certain temperature, but the MSI model requires overclocking to reach 2933 while the Gigabyte version doesn’t need that step. This difference might affect long-term stability and performance, possibly influencing board durability.

Durability remains consistent, yet this model handles higher frequencies compared to the MSI Motar. Improvements are also visible in the MSI Motar Max specifications.

The chip you're using should work with either board. Both provide sufficient power and the memory controller is built into the processor. You can choose either board and memory based on your preference.
