I secured some funds and decided to upgrade my system. Checking online revealed new Intel releases coming soon. Should I hold off or go for AMD now? I’m planning a budget of up to $1,000 for the main components—CPU, motherboard, RAM, power supply, a 2TB mechanical drive, and a case. I already have a Sapphire RX5700XT and a WD Blue 500GB SSD. My primary use is gaming on a 144Hz 1440p monitor, playing Warzone, PUBG, Siege, BF4, and RE3 without streaming. What’s the best choice for this setup?

They talk about AMD because they target what we need—maybe hold off on the Ryzen 4000 and opt for something like the 9th Gen, or go with a 3XXX lineup. Think they offer stronger backing for the latest tech.

What I’ve heard about the latest intel news is really intense. (About 200+w hot) For me, an AMD setup with an x570 board looks more appealing right now. Do you have the monitor included with the GPU? I see a recent post showing a Ryzen 5 machine that seems to be in good shape. What’s not working with that one?

I really need to remove my account since I sold that machine and received the payment today. I already have the 5700xt with 500GB SSD and the 1440p 144Hz monitor at home. Now I just need to purchase the remaining parts to assemble it. I sold both the PC and monitor in my profile for $1,200 minus the GPU and SSD. Someone nearby had a GPU and SSD and asked for the other components, offering me $1,200, which I had to accept because I couldn’t let it go for less.

Absolutely, some tasks need to be completed. I’d choose an x570 if you’re eager, or a b550 if you prefer. The MSI tomahawk x570 is reportedly solid. Around $200—it’s worth it. The temptation to upgrade to 8/16 is strong when possible. Your profile has another build option listed as x470—got it!

The other device in my account is my wife’s computer. She enjoys playing Sims, Lego games, and 2 Point Hospital when she has free time. It remains idle until I interact with it, then she becomes eager to use it. I removed that model from my profile to avoid any mix-ups. I’m located in the USA and plan to stick with this configuration for a few weeks. I’m confident staying on the 8/16 build and don’t want to replace anything for a while. Selling the PC and monitor was a smart move given the amount of money involved.

I’d suggest avoiding spending $1000. Opt for a 3600 MHz RAM package priced under $120, provided it’s RGB. Purchase a motherboard—ideally under $300, though most prefer lower costs. With your 5700xt, you likely don’t need more than a $180 CPU at 3600 MHz. A decent 650W power supply won’t exceed $150. You can still get a solid Evolve X case for around $200, leaving room for a good mechanical hard drive. Choose premium components or allocate less to each item. A non-RGB 3600 model could cost as little as $80? A B450 motherboard might be $120. (Upgrades are limited for most of these, but if you’re not planning soon…). A 3300x would run about $120, and a 500W PSU could be $70. Ultimately, decide what matters most to you and make your own choices. Regarding Intel, wait a week—expect more competition from AMD, though availability might improve. It’s up to you. In the meantime, your 5700xt remains unused…

Mag x570 tomahawk wifi appears to be listed but hasn't been made available. I'm worried I lack knowledge about which x570 models are reliable. Most budget options seem to fall short.
