Are there really few laptop RAM choices available? When searching for a compatible 2x16GB package, only trusted sellers like Crucial or Lenovo offer complete sets, while most others just provide single sticks (Adata/Kingston). I've heard many warnings about counterfeit SkHynix modules, which makes me cautious about buying those, especially since there aren't any official stores here. It seems the common advice is to purchase a full set rather than separate units. What's Lenovo's RAM model? 5600MT 46-46-46-90 (may indicate these are Sk Hynix chips, Crucial lists CT2K16G56C46S5)

Crucial has always been reliable and they're known for their quality, especially in titanium. It's unlikely you'll notice any major differences unless it comes down to timing. Updated on December 1, 2024 by ARandomPerson

I purchased possibly counterfeit DDR5 4800 MT RAM. They are quite affordable compared to premium brands and can definitely support 4800MT, which is what you'd expect from a 1260P model.

Essential noises suggest improved scheduling, but trying OC would be a more suitable initial step.

I'm steering clear of SkHynix because they don't have any authorized representatives. Samsung offers some products, though I've learned their DDR5 SO-DIMMs can overheat—which isn't ideal for laptops.

You're not allowed to do that, my computer is locked at 4800 RPM, but as long as they keep running that speed it's okay.

Fake ram? Can't really fake it, it either works or it doesn't. No reason to be concerned about "unreputable" vendors. I've got 32gb of Purskill AliExpress ddr5 4800mhz So-Dimm and it works fine. The only concern is that cheaper ram is gonna have worse timings and slower speeds, but it'll list that.

My machine is a 7940HX, and these Ryzen models tend to prefer faster RAM. The main worry is the warranty, plus local tax issues that push me to buy from official sellers. Kingston still offers the DDR3 warranty, but my drives keep failing after years of use.
