Windows 7 gives you complete authority over your machine and keeps you separate from the general testing phase.

Windows 10 is the latest version and should offer improved performance, but I still prefer Windows 7. If I had understood what Windows 10 would bring, I wouldn’t have upgraded. Still, at least I didn’t pay Microsoft that much for an adware program (I got Windows 7 for around $20 and upgraded that way).

Windows 7 is essentially an evolution of XP, offering minimal need to stick around. Critics focus on privacy issues with 10, but those problems didn’t exist in Win7 either—real concern would require a paranoid Linux setup like the one Snowden employs. For gaming, you can run the newest Direct X versions and work smoothly with newer processors without heavy compromises from 7.

However, telemetry isn't being sent continuously in version 7. Also, Windows 7 doesn't install CANDY CRUSH on your device!

Having the newest Direct X version isn't helpful unless game makers adopt it. Developers won't need Direct X 12 for a long time since many users still run Windows 7 and 8.x. Windows 7 could replace Windows XP for PCs that support Legacy Boot Mode. Vulkan might also gain traction among creators, allowing newer titles to run on older Windows versions for another ten years or more.

The main issue with Windows 10 is that it forces you to promote your own browser and apps within your own system, which feels unfair. Plus, there are many other problems too. I don’t really understand why ads at the operating system level would be a good idea.
