You're looking for guidance on operating systems for your new PC setup. Since you're transitioning from a Mac to a Windows machine, consider what matters most for your needs. If you value speed and performance, Windows 11 might suit you better despite its animation concerns. However, if you prefer a smoother experience and are open to adjusting settings, Windows 10 could still work well. Evaluate your priorities—speed versus familiarity—and test both options to see which fits you best.

Windows 11 is essentially a new look for Windows 10. It probably doesn’t change much for your needs. Of course, you can use it, and it does make a big impact. https://pureinfotech.com/turnoff-animati...indows-11/

Windows 11 can be minimized. I mainly work with Linux for coding, but if you prefer Windows, just keep using 10 until support ends, then move to 11.

If you're sticking with Windows, you'll probably need to use WSL to run things smoothly. Both Windows 10 and 11 offer this, so performance differences shouldn't be huge. Just a note: Windows is about 30-50% slower than Linux for machine learning tasks.

They developed the entire system on Windows, so it doesn't work on Mac.

Windows 11 compatibility with WSL2 and GUI support is available, while Windows 10 lacks this feature. Make sure your GPU drivers are updated for ML tasks running under WSL2 on Windows 11. Use Windows Terminal as the default command interface; Windows 10 does not support this setup. Avoid slow animations by installing Windows natively and ensuring all drivers are up to date. WSL2 works best when everything stays within the Linux environment, keeping project files organized for optimal performance.
