I’m focusing on a more balanced setup rather than extreme configurations. I’m aiming for a Linux environment as the main operating system while still enjoying gaming. I plan to use a Ryzen machine with solid specs—at least 6 cores, 12 threads, and 32 GB RAM—and run Linux as my primary OS. I want flexibility: either host a Linux VM or set up a Windows VM using unRAID, passing through SSD storage and connecting a graphics card to the Windows system. I’m open to learning how to configure this on a Fedora host, but I need something reliable that gets up quickly. My goal is to enjoy full gaming performance without constant reboots, and switch between Linux and Windows easily when needed.
I’ll likely stick with Fedora. It’s pretty straightforward to set up a Unraid for VMs. Just install Virt-Manager and turn on IOMMU.
