For those using Google, the best way to handle this issue is to enable Secure Erase+ in the BIOS after formatting the drive so it appears as a boot option. This setting should be found under BIOS > Advanced. Hopefully this prevents others from spending more than five hours rebuilding their drive and manually partitioning through command lines!
