I’m focusing on a basic gaming setup for my first PC. Using an i3 12100f saves me $40 USD. Every dollar matters, but I’m open to upgrading if it truly improves performance. The additional two cores seem justified for 1440p gaming?

Which GPU do you recommend? For a 1440p60 target, the i3 model should work well within the budget.

Modern systems don’t need quad-core processors anymore, especially for those who assemble their own machines. A hex-core setup usually lasts longer than a quad-core one.
