It's hard to say how it stacks up against Skylines, especially given the differences in city size and freedom. Many design choices in Simcity also play a role, such as the lack of realistic job placement or home placement logic. For instance, people don't actually seek work or live anywhere; the simulation assigns them the nearest available spot based on proximity. This means heavy density housing won't function well unless you adapt to these limitations. Otherwise, your buildings and structures may collapse due to unanticipated problems. Writing a full critique would be extensive, but the main point is that Skylines offers far greater scope and better mod support, making it a stronger city builder overall.
