Choose between Ryzen 2920X and 9900K based on your needs.
Hello! For your new PC build, you're considering CPUs like the Threadripper 2920X or 9900K. Both can handle gaming and streaming, but the extra cores might help with multitasking. The 9900K seems well-suited for both tasks, while the 2920X offers more power but could be heavier to manage. Let me know if you need more details!
In my view, a 3700X offers nearly the same gaming performance as the other options but with more cores for improved streaming. It’s also significantly more affordable compared to both Intel and Threadripper models.
It depends on the cost of the components (CPU and board). The 2920X isn't ideal for very high frame rates when you're not streaming. Both 3700x and 9900k use 8c16T processors, and there are no additional cores on the Ryzen 7.
If you have the budget for a 9900K, the 3900X offers slightly slower gaming speeds but provides more cores for streaming and gaming. If it's unavailable, choose the 3700X instead.
Thanks for the advice. I’ll take a closer look at 9900k and 3900x with more cores. Maybe I’ll try Ryzen after many years with Intel. I’m from Denmark, and Ryzen is only about 50 USD more than Intel—perfect for me. I don’t have a budget, but I could go higher if needed. There’s no point in buying something I won’t use fully. Thanks a lot!
I often think about using team Red, but for my upcoming SFF project I need integrated graphics, which none of the top-end Ryzen 3s provide. Likely I'll stick with the 9900k.
