3600 provides superior IPC and PCIe4 compatibility, whereas the 2700x adds two extra cores. For gaming and everyday tasks, I’d stick with the 3600.
I agree with this point. However, the variations are limited to just 2%-8%, which applies only when overclocking isn't used. The 2700x might perform better if it's overclocked properly.
From what I read, it seems like that might be true. I wasn’t sure my gaming was making full use of the extra cores in my older or higher-end 2700x.
