Choose between Origin Access or purchasing the game directly.
Hey! I'm struggling to figure out what to do next. Should I purchase Origin Access "Basic" for $30 a year, or should I buy Battlefield 4 for $20 with all the DLC and keep it? It feels like choosing between a full library of games that mostly disappoint me or a single title that might be worth owning.
You've just downloaded BF 4, but Premium is required to access all the DLC, which costs $50.
don't do it man that's not a legitimate source. it's not from amazon, origin, or other major retailers. probably from hackers or stolen accounts. they might work temporarily, but eventually the keys will be discovered by EA and the account owner can recover it.
Purchase it for $4.99 at Origin in the coming weeks and consider it done. Several DLCs are already available free, such as Community Operations, Night Operations, and Legacy Operations. The remaining four (ALL 5) are given away occasionally—once every one to two years—and you typically have a couple of weeks to claim them during those periods.
Fortunately, the timing aligns perfectly with your BF4 plans. The best months to look for all free DLC are May through October (starting late September). Following the pattern from previous years, you should be able to collect every DLC in June, July, August, September, or early October of this year. Keep in mind that you won’t receive them all simultaneously, so staying alert on Origin is essential.
I appreciate you creating this guide because I haven’t managed to get BF4 on PC until it reached $4.99 when I first played it on Xbox One. You can count on me to secure BF4 at that price soon, and I’ll remind you here when the free DLC becomes available. Interestingly, on June 5th, 2018, BF4 Final Stand was downloadable for free until June 12th. While I’m not predicting it will happen again, it’s possible.
It’s certain BF4 will reach $4.99 in June. BF1 and BF Hardline (often overlooked) are likely to follow suit. I strongly suggest all three titles. Both the campaign and multiplayer are solid across these games. Other popular titles like the Mass Effect series, Titanfall, Mirrors Edge, Dragon Age, and Star Wars Battlefront I & II will also be available around $2.99–$4.99 soon.
Honestly, I might just opt for the Basic Membership this year. It’s only about 2.50 a month, and I believe completing the entire BF3/BF4 campaign with the DLC would cover the cost. Plus, it lets me explore some lighter indie titles while I’m studying on my laptop.
I also plan to graduate in a year, so I don’t think I’ll be playing much after university.
I just canceled my Origin Access premium plan because there aren’t many games I want to play. Basic could be a good option, though it’s cheaper. Honestly, I’d follow the advice given and wait for a sale.
If money isn't a concern, that's essentially why people opt for Origin access. Feel free to choose how you like—it's likely you could purchase the games you intend to play when they become available for less than $30 and keep them indefinitely. These titles will soon be priced below $5.00. Whatever suits you best.
Well, as anticipated, BF4 together with 32 other titles on Origin is currently priced below $5.00...
I’m setting up BF4 now. Need to clear some disk space for future DLC.
EDIT: For some odd reason, I received all the BF4 DLC for free with my $4.99 purchase of the Standard Edition. You should buy it quickly and check if you still get the same offer. It looks like a glitch that might disappear soon. It seems I’m installing the Premium Edition, but my transaction lists only the Standard Edition.
