Seeking recommendations on CPU choices. Applications include CAD (SolidWorks), 3D printing, and gaming 3D printing projects with frequent 24-36 hour printing sessions. Need stability, long usage, and heavy single-thread workloads. Budget for CPU is around $1500 SGD. Any suggestions or alternatives?

Think about the 3700x or 3800x options. You could also look for a 3900x that matches a 3800xt, which would be much better. Intel CPUs aren't known for their multi-threaded performance today. Their systems are also more costly, use more power, and run hotter. What price is the 3900x set at?

Hello, The 3800XT is essentially a more refined version of the 3800X, which in turn is a refined take on the 3700X. For value and performance, the latter stands out. Now comparing 10700k and 3700x, TLDW 3600/3700X/3900X seem to be stronger choices unless you're heavily focused on gaming, in which case the 10600K or 10700K are the top picks.

The top choice is the 10600K for gaming, while spending more on the 10700K wouldn't significantly improve performance.

Consider a 3700X or 3900X if you claim gaming the i7 isn't worth it because it heats up more, consumes extra power, and the Z490 line has several issues right now.
