In both games, the GPU generally takes precedence over the CPU when running large-scale battles at maximum settings.

It probably involves many physics and AI computations because of the large number of troops, which suggests it could be using a CPU. However, I’m not entirely certain.

These Total War titles demand strong performance from both CPU and GPU. Simply improve your weakest component and you'll be satisfied.

CPU handles everything, with many tasks happening at once, helmets swirling, physics effects in action, and arrows zipping through the air. GPU manages the visuals, texture quality, and overall look of the game. The game combines both well, so even if your CPU is weak or your GPU isn't great, it won't run smoothly. (Reminder: Appearance doesn't always reflect how much GPU power is needed.)
