Hello everyone, I'm planning to assemble a PC this month and I'm getting a bit anxious about every small choice. My setup includes a 7.1 sound system with an optical audio input you can connect via USB. I'm thinking about adding more storage using another NVME M.2 slot, possibly expanding my RAM to two 16 GB modules (though I'm open to alternatives if needed) and maybe some extra RGB fans for style.
Gigabyte is running a cashback offer right now—buy a Ryzen 3000 CPU and one of their motherboards. Asus has a similar deal, but only for motherboards. I've attached both to the post. A Reddit user suggested the Gigabyte x570 Aorus Elite, priced around 208€ with a 50€ rebate. I looked into the promotion and saw the x570 Aorus Pro would be next in line at about 258€ (80€ back). I checked further and found the x570 Pro at roughly 258€ with an 80€ discount. Is that extra 20€ worth it? I searched for opinions and some people mentioned Gigabyte boards aren't reliable—one even shared they often faced startup issues. Should I switch to a different brand?
Since Asus is also running a cashback campaign, I checked their boards too. The TUF GAMING X570-PLUS (~208€, 40€ back) and the Wi-Fi version (~225€, 40€ back) both have Realtek L8200A LAN, which has some drawbacks. The ASUS Prime X570-P (~175€, 25€ back) uses Realtek RTL8111H LAN. I'm not sure if that's better than the L8200A. The ASUS Prime X570-Pro (~230€, 25€ back) has a Realtek RTL8111H LAN and might be worth considering. I could also upgrade to a 4 VRAM configuration with an extra 2070 Super if needed.
The last board in my budget is the ASUS ROG Strix X570-F Gaming (~250€, 40€ back), which is about 5€ more than the x570-Pro. What do you think?
