Searching for a fresh coop game to play with random players online. Which option sounds more appealing?

It relies on whether you prefer an RPG or a PvP experience.

These games offer distinct experiences. What draws me in about each is the unique approach they take.

Destiny's PvP didn't impress me much, though I wouldn't rule it out. While I'm not a big fan of competitive play, I do enjoy loot hunting and customizing weapons in games like Escape from Tarkov. I appreciate the ability to find and upgrade gear, and I'm looking for a solid online cooperative experience.

Well Destiny is free to play, and borderlands 3 is $30 currently. Download destiny and if you don't like it there's no money lost.

I played Destiny 2 last year November and at that time it was more of a PVE game than PVP. (i was playing on the Asian server). IDK if things had changed but at that time i was playing nobody was queuing for PVP matches. All other players who were mostly Chinese was running around the map killing monsters and participate in mini events. Probably they do this to unlock weapons, but idk for what they do it. Because nobody was queuing for PVP. I got bored of it after finishing the story, so i uninstalled.

Borderlands I haven't tried yet. You'll need to learn from someone else about that. What I shared before was my Destiny 2 experience. As @Votivee said, Destiny 2 is available for free right now. If we're still interested in playing it, it's completely free to access.

I enjoy both options, though I must choose Borderlands 3. Moze's mech resembles the Titans from Titanfall.

I started playing Destiny 2 this month on Steam. Free to play only right now. Only experience I've had before were the demos for 1 and 2 on PS4, when they came out, that's it. So I'm a total newbie. I'm enjoying it. There is a lot of content for a free to play game, mainly because it clearly wan't designed to be one at first. It doesn't explain anything to new light players, so you'll need to Google things quite often. Take things slow at first to avoid overwhelming yourself. Past story content is there but completely optional. So, you start out already at a high power level, 750. They did that probably to allow new players to jump into activities immediately with other friends if they wanted to. Crucible PVP is fun, sometimes you get your shit kicked in by veteran players but most times matchmaking seems to be working for me. Strikes PVE is fun too but I guess it gets old after a while, I like it because its all new to me. There is also this mixed mode PVP+PVE called Gambit, haven't tried it out yet. All this is no problem with randoms like you asked but you'll need a full 6 person team to do the endgame activities like Raids (Dungeons), etc. I'm not even thinking about that stuff now. I have played Borderlands 1 & 2, haven't played 3 yet. I really enjoyed those games. Destiny 2 is different. I liked Borderlands story and gameplay, especially 2. Destiny 2 is just space fantasy nonsense to me, no offence to fans. I don't care though, because the gameplay is fun for now. I have also heard good things about Warframe but I feel I'm too far behind to get into it now.
