I would say that if he had it, there must have been a good reason it was chosen as the game of the year.

Yes - besides being the RPG of the year, it's the feature that most games claim but rarely deliver?

It really simplified things too much, which is why I thought they should have kept New Vegas' original mechanics but refreshed the look. That version was the most enjoyable I've experienced with a Fallout title.

Metro follows a fairly straight path, which isn't my style (though it's still enjoyable compared to NV). For Stalker I haven't played it or seen it done. With Fallout 4, the new features actually break the game, especially when I ended up killing all the settlers to stop them from giving me the same repetitive fetch quests.

I’ve spent 63 hours in Skyrim, but the game no longer brings me joy. Mods helped, yet the combat turned me off. I prefer first-person shooters, which is why Fallout 4 stands out to me—it offers an open world with Skyrim vibes but swaps the clunky sword fights for guns. I’m certain I’d enjoy it again. The Battlefield series also appeals to me. I played Battlefield 4 on PS3 when I hadn’t switched to PC, but I only played a few sessions because of EA’s restrictions. Although I liked it, the crashes, glitches, and connection problems pushed me away. Now that everything is fixed at 1080p 60fps with support for 64 players, I’d love to give it another try.

In theory, I prefer Battlefield. In practice, I'll gain more value from Fallout.

I've been browsing for five minutes on Steam and haven't come across any negative feedback about this game... It's surprising it hasn't gained much attention.
