I recently switched my home desktop to Linux and test it periodically. It’s performing quite well, especially for World of Warcraft, and setup is straightforward with Lutris. The only hiccup was with the RTX graphics card. This time I used Ubuntu 22 LTS, which feels very compatible with Linux for my setup in 25 years. All drivers were detected and installed, including Nvidia support. The Nvidia X Server runs driver 510.73.05. I haven’t commented much on Blu-ray, but as long as HDCP devices are present, the experience should be consistent. The main concern is missing bundled licensing for Blu-ray, which Linux might not provide. My audio issue was that it kept switching to SPDIF when I changed devices, but I fixed it with a simple script.
