You have three options. First, purchase the B550 and 3300X now. Second, buy them then upgrade to a 4000 or 5000 series with Ryzen once those models become available. Third, hold off until the 4000 series Ryzen CPUs arrive.
Your current setup is an i3-4150 GTX with 6GB RAM and a 3300X. The GPU isn’t great, but it handles the CPU’s limits well—just barely. You can still play older games at decent frame rates.
Regarding the 3300X upgrade path: buying it now and upgrading later could work, but you risk missing out on better performance if the new models come sooner than expected. If you’re willing to invest in a new CPU for around 130€ and sell it later for 50€, that’s a solid strategy.
As for Intel, it seems to perform better for games like WoW, though I’m not sure how much of a difference it makes. It might be worth checking reviews or testing it out if you decide to go that route.
I wouldn't take that path. The details about the support for B450 with Ryzen 4000 processors are not yet clear.

Hello and welcome. If you're shopping at the 3300X price point then waiting for the equivalent Ryzen 4000 chip will be quite a while. What you might see is the Ryzen 3600 become more affordable after the Ryzen 4000 release though. So a B550 board with a discounted Ryzen 3600 and then in another year the discounted Ryzen 4600 may not be terrible. And then sit on that setup until you're ready to hop on the latest DDR5 supporting platform.
Everyone's counting on 4000, no one is selling anything. I suggest picking the cheapest AM4 CPU—maybe a $50 Athlon—and wait until it arrives. My prediction is January will be the best time. Of course, the lower-end models won't appear for another 2-3 months after 4600.
