You've been using a 27-inch 1080p display for years, but switching to a 1440p one feels much better. If you prefer the convenience of 1080p, a 24-inch monitor would be a simple upgrade.

I plan to purchase a gaming PC with the 3 i3 2100 GTX 750ti and 8gb RAM. I think buying it now is a good idea since I’ll also need a gaming monitor.

That's a clear instruction—go ahead with the 1080p upgrade.

The GTX 750Ti cannot run games at 1440p resolution. What are you investing in your new rig?

I once used two 27-inch monitors at once—one with 1440p and the other with 1080p. When placed side by side, the 1080p display appeared quite poor. I've also experienced differences between 4K and 1440p at the same time, though the contrast isn't as stark.

27 inches or higher with 1440p minimum. At least 1080p on 27/32 inch screens appears quite unpleasant. The pixels are about the size of LEGO bricks.
