This setup enhances gaming experience. For long-term use without upgrades, it could be a good investment. If you intend to upgrade in 2-3 years, consider waiting and allocate funds elsewhere.

For now it's just a neutral move. Will have to see if there will be any performance difference once AMD's RDNA 3 gpus with 3D V-cache roll out. Would the system get a bump in performance if both CPU and GPU have 3d cache... the question that will determine if they will be able to tackle nVidia properly like they did with Intel.

The 5800X3D performs a bit slower overall, though gaming speed remains similar. It would definitely be a step down. For me, I’m not sure it makes much difference—it was around 12900K to 5800x3D... (upgraded from a R5 3600). My wallet still stands. :p (and Steve helped too lol)

It's similar to 5 frames per second at 1080p, with 3D offering the most edge over others. I wouldn't say it's a better performance, and definitely not worth the extra 100 dollars for improved results (plus the trouble of fixing things). It feels like a total waste as an upgrade. At 4K you won't notice much difference—probably GPU intensive—and it drops productivity significantly. Ultimately, it's up to you. lololol xD Wait... you reconsider? >. (I don’t watch Netflix lol)

Well, actually, that image you shared as the 5600 9 FPS under the 5800X3D seems to be a benchmark photo created with a GPU limit. It appears you were testing CPU performance instead. Still, the 5800X3D offers better gaming performance, and investing in it makes sense for a long-term setup—especially if you can recoup some cost by selling the 5900X later.

It feels seamless like glass. 5900X remains quite impressive as well. Fortunately, I still possess it.

well you gotta discuss this with Steve, its a "CPU benchmark " according to him (also says so in the picture) he also said (repeatedly) that the 5800X3D is the strongest at 1080p (they also used medium settings, i think pretty unusual for GN?) What this all means in terms of GPU/CPU wasn't really my point, more like theres literally no difference (also why i wrote "LOL" on the 12900KS... which is like 3 times as expensive lol) you know? i just don't see how this is an upgrade... the 5900X is better all around, the 3D is slightly better in "some" games.
