I’m looking for a PC and need to decide between Intel and AMD options. I’m considering the AMD Ryzen 7 7700 versus the Intel i7 12700. The Ryzen seems stronger, but some people say AMD support isn’t reliable. Need advice to help make the choice.

Get the Ryzen—it won’t have issues and runs a bit quicker. The cost looks identical for both models. It’s also unlocked for overclocking. If the Ryzen’s price seems much higher, consider Intel instead, and the reverse applies.

I really adore the 7700x. It’s my first AMD CPU, while I’ve used Intel for 20 years! I’ve built over 20 AM5 Ryzen 7000 systems last year with no problems, using different B650 boards and AM5 chips. It’s perfect for gaming too—support should be similar for Intel as well. What kind of support are you looking for for a CPU?

Their friends were influenced by marketing to believe AMD is just a second-tier option, but that's not true.
