You're planning a budget PC build with a Ryzen 5 3600X, an RX 590 GPU, and an Asus TUF B450M motherboard. The MATX slot should work, but double-check compatibility. Since you're new, consider starting simple and gradually adding components. Your budget of $1000–$1700 is reasonable for a solid setup. Let me know if you need help finding parts or configuring the build!

Request a R2600 and B450 board, opt for a solid board such as Tomahawk or similar models with excellent VRMs.

For Ryzen you require a B450 or X570 motherboard. B360 is an Intel platform.

The CPU and MOBO aren't compatible. You should use a board with the AM4 platform, not LGA 1151.

Apologies for the mistake, the motherboard is actually B450M.

It's better to opt for an MSI B450 A-PRO MAX or a Gaming Plus Max board rather than this setup.

I might consider upgrading to a higher-end GPU if you have the budget—around 1660 S / 2060 S / 2070 S from NVIDIA or a 5700 / 5700 XT for AMD. However, AMD has had driver problems lately, so opting for an NVIDIA card would be safer right now. For memory, aim for 16 GB to 32 GB of DDR4 RAM; speeds are more important with Ryzen processors, so target 3000–3600 MHz. I’m not sure if jumping from 3000 to 3600 gives much extra performance, but it’s better than the previous generation. Someone else might have more details.
