Hi, I'm looking at some options for my setup. I have an SFX 850W PSU and plan to upgrade to a 1200W ROG Strix Z390i soon. Please avoid asking for comments on PSUs, just want to explore possibilities and have hardware questions. My rig includes the Rog Strix Z390i, i9-9900K, Strix 3080Ti, a full loop 7.5L case, and it's currently powered by two HDPEX units connected directly via DC-ATX (200W, shuts off at 300W). The PSU has a Molex port on one side and an EPS 8-pin on the other.

First, would it help to use a converter cable to add an EPS rail? Also, should I connect both the PCIe 8-pin and EPS 8-pin to the GPU?

Second, regarding the power brick for the 400W PLEX: it's also a 400W PLEX AC-DC unit. If I wanted to run all eight pins (three) on the GPU for maximum performance, but don’t want the PLEX to operate at full capacity constantly, can I connect another PSU of 150W to the same synchronizer? Also, could I link its 12V PCIe 8-pin to the GPU as well?

Thanks, and let me know if you need more details. The case is a DR-Zaber Sentry 2.0 clone. I currently have a single PSU, but I’m considering adding another 140mm RAD for the PLEX instead of an SFX. I’ve got an LC OC model with cut HDMI, XSPC 20mm fans, and two Alphacool 50x50x40mm radiators. Not sure if that’s enough for my current specs, especially with overclocking in mind.
