I haven't played Battlefield before and don't know which one is best for online play. I understand one is releasing soon and I'll get that, but for now, what should I choose? On Steam, Company 2 has a larger online player base.

People still play BC2, but it's not as many people as the BF4 playerbase. I would wait on BF1 and see if they don't fuck it up. If they don't, it'll be an amazing game. I guess you can say that about any AAA game these days really..

You might still locate some servers for Bad Company 2, Battlefield 3, and Hardline. BF4 remains the most popular on PC at the moment. Bad Company 2 was the final Battlefield title before EA introduced Origin. Since then, all related content is exclusive to Origin, meaning it’s not available on Steam.

Battlefield 4 on Origin with the Premium DLC offers excellent value and plenty of engaging gameplay. Battlefield 2 remains solid and continues to thrive, and you can download and play it online for free at the provided link.

many players in BC2 face extremely poor latency, which seriously harms the overall experience

These combat simulations seem similar to COD with tanks and planes... My experience was in BF3, which was my reference. I notice the same pattern in BF4 and Hardline. There’s no real strategy involved. I’m after something like Mount & Blade, but updated for today—just rush through, fire away, and take down vehicles. I wouldn’t invest in a battlefield title if I were you. A Star Citizen bundle is more appealing at its listed price of $45 or $60 than Battlefield 4. You’ll enjoy Overwatch, Doom, or SC:Insaniq more than Battlefield 4.

It’s because the app uses a web browser to run, which is why you’re seeing this behavior. You should check the settings of the game to see if there’s an option to switch to a different mode or control method. It might feel strange at first, but it’s just how the system is set up.

Same situation in BF3 too. Seems like they didn’t make any changes... Enjoy. It’s just a browser plug-in. EA messes things up. Your stats are stored there too...
