Hi all,
as mentioned in the title, I'm getting a back screen instead of a screensaver. The screensaver option is available, but the screen timeout for both plugged in and unplugged is set to 5 hours. Could anyone suggest a solution? Thank you!

Adjust the timeout duration to one minute occasionally to help systems function correctly again. Once successful, revert it to five hours. If this does not resolve the issue, restart your device through the power options menu.

And I will inquire about the screensaver and its origin.

Thank you, I'll give it a shot. I also saw that the spotlight isn't functioning. It might be related to the current situation.

Try
@Secret-Squirrel's idea initially.
Observe what occurs or doesn't occur.
If the issue persists, provide further information about the laptop's hardware and current operating system details.
Next, attempt to disable Spotlight.
But remember, as usual, ensure all crucial laptop data is saved at least twice in separate locations away from the device.
Check that the data can be recovered and accessed properly.

.............I should mention a temporary adjustment to the slideshow type.

The laptop is a Dell G16 (7620) with 16GB RAM and an SSD. I attempted to use the one-minute screen timeout feature, but it didn't work. The screensaver is set to ribbons and occasionally functions randomly. Spotlight isn't working either. Additionally, I'm unsure if enabling the option to show the lock screen background picture on the sign-in screen in lock screen settings would help. I considered using a Razer mouse with Razer Central software, which includes "axon" that alters the background. Just noting this, it might influence the system. But I've disabled it and still don't have a screensaver.
