Chipset fans integrated with GPU components
Chipset fans integrated with GPU components
Many users are switching to the 3080 along with a full system overhaul. (CPU, motherboard, storage, etc). I saw on some budget X570 models like the Asus TUF that the powerful 3080 GPU can hide the chipset fan. Is this usually an issue? I tend to go for 200 and under mobos, needing only a PS/2 port. (Model M preference). Another option I’m considering is the B550 Tomahawk (on sale, about two-thirds the price of the Asus TUF x570), but it lacks a chipset fan. Will the GPU covering the heatsink there cause similar problems?
They're not really a concern. Don't stress about it. Most of these fans are installed just in case temperatures get too high, so you shouldn't even think about the chipset fan working. Even if you check the dimensions, if the fan needs a lot of air, manufacturers should use bigger radiators and fans there.
