Hi! For your i7-6700 CPU, you’ll want to check the compatible chipset options for your motherboard model. Typically, Intel CPUs like the i7-6700 are supported by certain chipset families such as Z690 or B660. Make sure to verify with your specific motherboard’s documentation to ensure compatibility.

Have you prepared a motherboard yet? What makes you think you need a replacement?

All 100-series and 200-series chipsets work together. Models like H110, Z270, B250, H170 are supported. Are you looking for a new motherboard because your existing one failed?

You already have a prebuilt system, but you're looking to enhance it with some upgrades and would also like a fresh motherboard.

Unless you require a function missing from your present motherboard, it’s best not to upgrade. A fresh motherboard won’t improve an unoverclockable CPU’s performance.

Cheap ATX boards on eBay are quite typical. B150 and B250 models usually offer solid basic builds. Keep in mind the maximum RAM speeds supported are DDR4 2133 and DDR4 2400. Also note these chipsets are restricted to Intel CPUs from the 6th and 7th generation, so upgrading to 8th or 9th would be challenging.
