You're still working toward level 50 in FFXIV ARR, but the expansion seems worth the $19 investment. I didn't spot any other compelling games to buy this time, so I went for DLCs instead.

Lv.50 skills seem less impressive than Lv.60 ones, but they offer more content. -From a FFXIV player

If you enjoy the ARR formula (similar to WoW), that's fine. Otherwise, you'll soon find yourself with nothing to do once you hit 50, as things move forward in today's theme parks.

ARR is significantly superior to WoW. By level 30 I was getting tired and found it uninteresting, lacking excitement. While the storyline offered some engagement, it didn’t impress me—even the content in LOTRO seems better. FFXIV ARR impressed me, though the loading screens were a minor annoyance. Overall, the game remains a strong choice. I’d consider Heavensward if it aligns with my preferences.

It depends on what you're looking for, but overall the experience stays pretty much the same. The core mechanics and style are essentially the same between WoW and this game, with only minor differences in terminology. As you progress past 50, the repetition becomes more noticeable, but the overall feel remains consistent. The Tuesday mode seems to still be around.

It might be true you're enjoying it more now, rather than facing tedious tasks. Blizzard probably attempted to add more excitement with visuals and videos, but the overall experience still feels better than before.

Yeah Heavensward enhances the existing narrative with engaging raids and challenges for players over 54. The latest update introduced fresh content tailored for higher levels, including a storyline reminiscent of Ravana at level 54. Even new players can reach level 60 with features like Aquapolis, offering up to seven levels. Each stage presents monsters to conquer, and finishing rewards chests and doors—choosing the right one unlocks the next level. Chests yield increasingly valuable items, mostly glamour pieces, pets, and crafting supplies. Completing all seven levels grants around 200K gil, a substantial reward considering the time invested. For competitive players, recent patches added popular PvP modes that have drawn interest, though I personally haven’t tried them. The Savage content provides a tougher challenge for those seeking deeper difficulty, but finding compatible groups is often difficult. Overall, it’s a worthwhile investment of the $40 I spent.

Thanks in advance, it looks like things are going to get interesting. I’m planning to upgrade my internet before signing up. I’m hoping my favorite character appears soon and I want to perform well right away—do you know if there’s a way to secure levels so I can remain at level 40? Also, would it be possible to explore lower-level dungeons for practice without progressing through the full levels?

It's not feasible, but you can still return to the simpler dungeons at a lower level. The game will automatically adjust your stats to match the appropriate level and gear for that dungeon.

It offers numerous fresh features you definitely shouldn't overlook. A well-designed DLC in every aspect.
