I'm asking since the MSI board is more affordable and would be easier to fit within my budget.

Honestly, there aren't any great H610 boards available. As long as you're using a low-power chip and the board meets your requirements, it should work fine. I've noticed Linus usually prefers Asus boards more often than others.

Thanks for your response, it looks like the board should work well with an i3 12100f and provide added security compared to using the same setup as before.

There's no reason why you can't substitute that board and have any issues.

Motherboards perform well when they remain intact and not exposed to physical harm. The worst situation involves reduced efficiency from inadequate VRM cooling or damage, in which case returning it for repair might be the best option. It mainly matters if the board matches your requirements or future plans. Choosing the right model is important only for high-performance CPUs, not just overall board features.
