Checking RTX 2060 performance across games (full test)
My PC with an RTX 2060 suddenly crashed in every game. I can just close it using Task Manager or it shuts down on its own. I've tried all sorts of fixes—replacing RAM, switching to an SSD with a fresh Windows install, checking the power supply, updating and reinstalling GPU drivers, even using older driver versions. The only time it worked was with the default Windows drivers before automatic NVIDIA updates. With those drivers, games ran poorly but didn't crash. Some older games like Quake III or Halo 1 also stayed stable. The Fur Mark demo and Ultra Kill Prelude worked, but the Anger Foot demo crashed (from itch.io). Temperatures seem normal, so overheating isn't the issue. I haven't changed the CPU or motherboard. Could this be a problem with the GPU itself?
The existing PSU is 500W, I attempted a 650W unit and the issue persisted. I haven't tested the other GPU slot yet. However, I did use a low-end GT 620 in that slot without crashes.
