Checking motherboard SB chipset specs and performance during testing.
You have a modern build with solid specs and some tweaks you've made. The cooling setup is functional but could use refinement. For temperature limits, check your motherboard manual or the chipset datasheet for safe operating ranges—generally avoid sustained temps above 85°C for most consumer chipsets. As for stress testing, intentionally overheat the system by running demanding games or applications and monitor temperatures closely. This helps confirm if your cooling solution can handle peak loads without failing.
To push SB effectively you’d need to link several cards or use multiple GPUs at maximum capacity. This would definitely put a strain on it. Temperatures under 80°C are ideal, with an average below 65°C being optimal. Idle temperatures should stay well under 50°C.
When the motherboard controls the SB fan independently, temperatures hover near 55°C during idle. As long as it doesn’t reach 80°C, it’s fine. My advice is to set the SB fan at 30% and observe the changes. *note* I’ll also keep an eye on temperatures when running GPU-heavy tasks.
