I've been researching B450 motherboards for my upcoming project. In past builds I often skipped planning and just picked RAM as needed. Many people emphasize checking compatibility between RAM kits and your CPU/motherboard, as well as reviewing the motherboards' QVL lists. The ASUS ROG STRIX b450-F and MSI Tomahawk Max are both popular options, though I'm open to suggestions. I was considering the G.skill TridentZ-3200 2x8GB kit (model F4-3200C16D-16GTZR). Neither board lists this exact model on their QVL, which is puzzling since I haven't encountered any problems before. There are other G.skill options available, but finding those specific models on sites like Newegg or Amazon can be challenging. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You can generally refer to the QVL list, or completely ignore it. If you manage to locate a kit that doesn't function, I'd be quite taken aback.

There were numerous comparable models available, which gives me confidence in my choice (most relied on SK Hynix chipsets). I’m not very familiar with detailed RAM specifications like clock speeds or various manufacturers, but I appreciate the guidance.

It's still worth looking into. Her girlfriend recently upgraded to 32GB of RAM for that reason.
