For instance, if my motherboard doesn’t support overclocking, then I’d like to boost my CPU and GPU. What if I replace my GPU and CPU with different models and run them on another motherboard? After that, once I’ve achieved the desired speeds there, I’ll just swap everything back into my original motherboard—which can’t handle overclocking. Will the motherboard recognize the high frequencies from the new setup or will it simply ignore them, treating everything as if they’re using stock settings? I hope you understand this because I’m struggling to explain it clearly. Thanks in advance!

No, the CPU does not retain any overclocking data. It will operate at its standard speed. You can enhance your GPU's performance through software, and this adjustment is separate from the motherboard.

Exactly as mentioned earlier, the CPU does not retain that information; it is saved in the CMOS chip on the motherboard. You can increase your GPU's speed using software such as MSI Afterburner, EVGA Precision X, ASUS GPU Tweak, and so on.
