Checking if you can boost the 9700K on an ASUS TUF 370Z Pro
Checking if you can boost the 9700K on an ASUS TUF 370Z Pro
It has been a while since I assembled a PC and usually relied on an MSI MB. This ASUS Bios is unfamiliar to me, making me wonder if I made mistakes. I'm attempting to overclock the CPU to reach 5.0, but it keeps fluctuating unpredictably. I thought I had everything under control, but it doesn’t seem to work. If anyone has any advice on how to get this running smoothly, please let me know—I’m finding most guidance tailored for ROG-style boards and they differ quite a bit. It might just be that I haven’t found the right guide yet, though I’m confident someone has done this before.
What I need is instructions on enabling/disabling certain settings to maintain a fixed clock speed and where to adjust the voltages. The older MSI boards were straightforward, but this BIOS offers many more options and voltage tweaks than I’ve encountered before.

What sort of a number are you looking to hit? The power deliver on the Z370 platform ins't as beefy as the Z390 chipsets are equipped to run. You may also need to specify what you mean by being all over the place? Furthermore, are you on the latest BIOS update for your motherboard?
Im just looking to put it at 5.0Ghz right now, nothing crazy, its doing the intel thing where it changes the clocks everywhere from 0.8-4.7Ghz right now. I thought about the 390 after I got the 370 but I think it will be fine, Im not going for anything to crazy. I updated the BIOS about 2 hours ago from the web to the latest version. That should all be up to date. I added the info to the original post you asked for. Anything else let me know please.
